Saturday, October 10 to 18, the exhibition opens to the public Balthus in Ravenna, Count Balthazar Klossowski of Rola, aka Balthus, ironic man and secret and last great painter of the figurative tradition of our century (Paris, February 29, 1908 - Rossinière, February 18, 2001 ).
To welcome in Balthus' 95, came to Ravenna to see the translation in the form of a mosaic of his painting, La chambre turque (The Turkish Room), made possible thanks to the valuable contribution of Cristina and Riccardo Muti and Pietro and Marilena Barilla, preserved in the Collection Mosaics of modern and contemporary of MAR, there was between the representatives of the citizens, Marcello Landi, who today paid tribute to him with an exhibition. Show that reconstructs the translation mosaic work with about 40 original photos and a special mosaic Ines Morigi Berti.
Balthus gave his assent to 'execution of' work inspired by his wife, Japanese wife Setsuko, wrapped in drapes of a bright kimono, which he painted between 1965 and 1966 in Rome. The various phases of the translation mosaic, curated by Marcello Landi Pro.Mo in 1995, were made under the artistic direction of Ines Morigi Berti, who realized some of the special mosaic, Marco De Luca (technical coordination), Art and Work, Artes Mutae, Alessandra Caprara, Cooperative Mosaic, Silvana Costa, Luciana Notturni, Felice Nittolo, Paolo Raccagni and Andrea Raccagni.
